Day 7
Travelling to Kyoto by Shinkansen
Day 8
Gion - Visited the Kennin-ji temple with amazing artwork on the ceiling and a beautiful zen garden. After that had some delicious soba(¥1300) at 手打ちそば 竹花. Took a walk to beautful Gionmachi Kitagawa, and later to Gion corner(¥2500) to see performances of traditional Japanese art and ceremonies - tea ceremony, theatre, maiko performance.
In the evening I headed to Chao Chao for some gyoza(¥1500), it was amazing, definitely recommended.
Day 9
Fushimi Inari - I saw Fushimi Inari briefly the year prior, but it was in the afternoon, and I didn't walk up the mountain. This time I decided to get there early in the morning and to experience the walk/climb. I was there at around 6:30 AM and the walk was beautiful, there were some other tourists, but it was not crowded by any means. The view of Kyoto when halfway up is great. All of the gates make for a very scenic and serene experience, I definitely recommend going there in the morning to experience it.
After Fushimi Inari I went to get some ramen at a random shop and I went to a cat cafe, very fun and cute to spend some time with cats :) Then I went to Chao Chao again for more gyoza.
Day 10
Kinkaku-ji - The golden temple of Kyoto, looks great, not that much to do around the area but it's still worth going out of the way to see.
Loved reading about this trip and your pics are mostly making me hungry and jealous! :)
