So it was my first bus journey in the United states. I never traveled in Greyhound Before. However is the very well know bus service in the USA. It is cheap and affordable. But sometimes you will not like greyhound. I didn't find it very clean actually. some stops are also dirty. However the kentucky trip was good for me although a bad bus experience.
Day 1 : We visited the kentucky arboretum in lexington city. If we visit at afternoon, you will get some good pictures. Lol ! The gardens are composed of a collection of smaller gardens. These include the Home Demonstration Garden, the Rose Garden, the Fragrance Garden and plantings at the Dorotha Smith Oatts Visitor Center. The best thing is admission is FREE ! We spent around 3/4 hours in the arboretum.
Our next stop was keeneland race track. However this is not only a racetrack. You can also have tours, morning walk, library and also a shop. We took the backstratch tour. Walk through Keeneland’s Stable Area – commonly called the “backstretch” -- and see activities that occur every day – from a racehorse being bathed and walked to receiving new shoes. Other tour stops include the main track and training track, Racing Office and Sales Pavilion.
Tours are limited to a maximum of 10 people. The walking tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours and largely takes place outside, rain or shine. For your comfort, please dress for the weather. The cost of this tour was 35 dollars.
We end our day with a good dinner. We went to a pizza restaurent called mellow mushroom lexington. The price was affordable and taste was good
Day 2 : We went to University of kentucky also the UK museum of art. The collection includes European and American artwork ranging from Old Masters to contemporary, as well as a selection of Non-Western objects. Featured artists include Alexander Calder, Agostino Carracci, Jean Dubuffet, Sam Gilliam, Louise Nevelson, and Gilbert Stuart, among others. All admission is Free
After lunch we explored the downtown. The downtown has a beautiful place for ice skating. We end our trip by visiting lexington cemetery.
