Day 3 - Nara Day Trip from Osaka
An awesome day! We got to Nara without issue and saw Todai-ji and about a jillion other temples and shrines nearby that we didn't pay attention to the names of, because we were overwhelmed and exhausted (in a good way!)
There are so, so many and all of them were insanely gorgeous. If you're looking for a magical, beautiful nature and shrine experience, walk around Nara and just take it all in.
We hung out for way too long in Nara Park, where relatively tame deer wander freely and will harass you for senbei crackers sold by local vendors. Be careful here! The deer are fearless and if you have food or anything that might look like food on hand, they will steal it from you.
We mainly ate street vendor snacks all day. I wanted to go through Naramachi, a famously charming preserved historical district, but we tired ourselves out exploring up and down the hillsides and steps between shrines, so just headed back to Osaka and got a simple dinner at Nakau, a chain restaurant open late. We were still fending off the last dregs of jetlag, so energy levels were low.

I love a destination with an aquarium. Adding Osaka as a must-stop in the future to visit.
