On arrival in Kyoto we just cabbed it to the Ritz. After check-in we ventured to the Gion area and wandered around, and then went towards the Fushimi Inari and wandered the area for a while. After that ventured the area near the hotel and ended up in a bar called Fishbowl until the end of the night, good times.

Day 8 - Had breakfast at the hotel, it was a bit pricey but it was awesome, they use some local eggs that have the deepest richest orange yolks. If you stay here, we highly recommend the splurge. After breakfast we headed towards Arashiyama. We hiked up to the top of the monkey park, explored the temples, and the bamboo forest, and did some souvenir shopping. The monkeys were fun, and the bamboo forest was pretty cool but there were a ton of people there. After that we headed to the golden pavilion, while the temple was stunning, there was a ridiculous amount of people here and it was a pain to go along the path. After this we headed towards to the Nishiki Market, wandered around there, ate some great ramen and gyoza, and bought a knife. At that point we were exhausted and went back to the hotel and called in a night.

Day 9 - Woke up and headed to Sanjusangendo and got in line 10 minutes before opening. We got in pretty quickly and walked through the temple, seeing the 1000 statues was cool. We then headed to Nara, we walked through the park, and fed the deer, which was fun. The deer are pretty aggressive when they know you have food and you aren’t giving it to them, it was pretty amusing to watch. We then checked out the Todaiji temple with the giant buddha, and it was quite a sight. After that made our way back to Nara station and headed towards Osaka, the main thing we went to see there was the Shiba Ryotaro memorial museum, this was a really cool building inside and out and if you’re interested in architecture I’d highly recommend it. It was a bit cold and rainy in Osaka so we didn't venture around as much as we had planned to. Walked around near the tower, and also had some Yakiniku in the top floor of a department store near the train station. It was great because we were sitting at the window with the grill in front of us. After that we headed back to Kyoto and took it easy the rest of night.
