We took the romance car to Hakone from Tokyo because it has the panormic windows, not as fast but much more of a view.

For about $25 Gora Kadan had a taxi driver waiting for us at the exit of the train station gates. So glad we pre arranged this because it was cold, sprinkling and the taxi line was crazy. We got to Gora Kadan, checked in quickly, and spent the rest of the day lounging in the hot springs bath in our room. We had wanted to go to the Hakone Open Air Museum but it was too cold and wet. Later we had an in-room Kaiseki dinner which was great and then spent the rest of the evening on the balcony and enjoying the in room onsen. We left 2 of our bags with the Park Hyatt and had them transfer them to the Andaz for us so we could travel light on the trains for the next parts of the trip.

Day 7 - Woke up and breakfast was served in our room. It was excellent. Spent the rest of the morning checking out the main onsen and spending some more time in the in room one. When checking out they asked us where we were headed and after we advised we were heading to the train station they offered us a free ride in their mercedes s class which we took them up on. We took the train down the mountain to the Hakone-Yumoto Station, then took another train to Odawara where we caught the Shinkansen to Kyoto.
